Lead Developer, Founder

I founded GGRetroBox at 15 because I couldn't find a retro gaming subscription box that hit the mark, so I built a better one from scratch. As the solo founder and lead developer, I took on many roles from architecting the entire full-stack application to packing boxes and handling customer support. I recently sunset the service (while it was still growing!) to focus on my college education and prepare for whatever I build next.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Engineering: Created a custom e-commerce and logistics platform from the ground up to manage subscriptions, user libraries, and personalized game curation.
  • Security & Payments: Implemented custom, secure authentication (Passkeys, OAuth, 2FA) and integrated Stripe for seamless, secure subscription billing management.
  • Performance: Built a lightning-fast game database search and collection management system using Meilisearch and Redis caching to optimize the user experience.
  • Operations: Integrated the Shippo API to automate fulfillment, allowing the business to scale smoothly as the subscriber base grew.
